Are you a writer, filmmaker, or artist? Are you ready to use your talent to make a difference? The Storytelling Committee is your chance to make social change happen – doing what you love. See your area of interest for more information on how you can help tell the story.
Writing
If you love writing, writers, and editing, the writing subcommittee is the place for you. We’ll be collecting articles, creative non-fiction, poetry, and even academic works to use to share the Shakti story with our community. As a committee member, you will identify opportunities to share written works through publication, media outlets, community contests and events, and on the internet. You will edit written works and participate in the collection of stories from within the Shakti community.
Don’t have time to join the committee, but still want to contribute? We will also be accepting individual submissions of written works from anyone touched by the work of Shakti Rising.

Film
Seeing the work of Shakti Rising in action is a powerful experience. By creating a documentary film, members of the filmmaking subcommittee will highlight the big picture social change that begins in the lives of individual women and ripples out into the world.

Art
Expressive arts are a key feature of Shakti Rising’s model. We believe that creativity is a fundamental part of being human, and an important part of fostering individual and community transformation.
You can use your art to support Shakti in a lot of ways – as part of our writing and filmmaking projects, to contribute to our website – we’ll support you, just use your imagination!
